Center of Environment Chemical Safety (CECS) (set up in 2009) is one of centers under Chemical Society of Vietnam (CSV). CECS is an R&D center in the field of Environment and Chemical safety, its aim is to culsultancy and training activities in the field of chemical safety and environment. CECS now has 6 official employees and they have backgrounds on chemistry and environment. CECS is also consisted of co-workers and thay are real and experienced scietists and technologists working in the field of chemical safety, environmental management and technology, as well as environmental monitoring field. CECS has cooperated with many other laboratories in the different. Main functions of CECS are following: - consultancy in the field of environmental engineering and technology - consultancy in the field of hazardous wastes management - consultancy in the field of waste and chemical audit - consultancy in the field of chemical safety - consultancy in the field of chemical information - consultancy in the field of environmental monitoring - develop EIAs and environmental planning projects CECS staff have experience in the field of environment and industry: 1. Development of policy and regulation for hazardous wastes management and chemical management 2. Development of industrial wastes management master plan for some industrial zones 3. EIAs development for some industrial development projects 4. Development of software for chemical information management 5. Development of National Regulation on chemical safety management 6. Take part in Environmentally sound technologies promotion in the industrial sectors 7. Development of hazardous wastes management 8. Cleaner Production of Environmentally sound technologies in the industry 9. Environmental technologies evaluation and licensing 10. Carrying out environmental monitoring, environmental quality assessment (including soil, water, air) programs; measuring and analysing chemical and solid waste samples. 11. Training and education in waste management, chemical safety, Cleaner Production, Environmentally sound technologies 12. Promotion of activities for sustainable development of industry of Vietnam (Agenda 21 of Vietnam) 13. Take part in developing discharge standards (effluent and emission) 14. Design and build of waste management facilities for some industries 15. Research on rehabilitation for mining areas 16.
